I go to alot of web sites that have ads that make these ear wracking noises. I swear I have almost castrated myself in frustration as a gun noise interupts my songs playing. Is there a setting to disable sounds in Internet Explorer? If not, can someone give me some tips on sharpening knifes?

Go to Tools/Internet Options/Advance/ then scroll down till you come to Multimedia then untick play sounds in web pages.

This will stop the sounds.

Hey, you know what that didnt do it. I still get sounds. I go to a site like
http://www.sharp-usa.com/SharpHome/1,1959,,00.html
and I get sounds all kinds. Do you or does anyone know any other way to turn sounds off?

There is different ways of the sounds coming on...some are the IE navigation noises, which are turned off in the control panel, some might come from flash, some can come from java applets, etc, etc....What "jspr57
" told you todo will clear up most of the sounds, you will just have to live with the rest, they arn't that common.
