Hi I'm looking to buy a web cam, but seeing as i don't have a digital camera i was wondering whether the webcams that can be used as a camera are any good?

I'm looking to spend around £100-£150- would it be possible to buy a dedicated digital camera and use that as a webcam? I guess i then would have to pick up a separate microphone then?
