Hopefully this is the first step for social and legal acceptance of mods. Funny thing is that TechTV is owned by ZD Publishing of which Paul Allen, a founder of MS is part owner of.

On tech TV today they announce that the xbox show was delayed because of legal problems ie Mircosoft threatening legal action. They said they have resloved the problems and the show will air soon. Tech TV is the best, they have balls man

Actually this is a show, or was, that pointed out that it is very illegal to do this. Ouch! A lawyer was there and they kept saying how wrong it is to mod your X-Box but they did it anyway.... :laugh:

They must have gotten the permission that they were after... (the modding feature will be on t.v. all this week) also see... thescreensavers.com

yeah it was a bit dissapointing, since the show is an hour, and they did xbox stuff for about 15 minutes. the mod was already installed. I thought they would go through the motions from start to finish. it will be interesting to see how the other episodes go!

yes its available if you have it as part of your channel line up. check www.comcast.com for a channel list. i think its in the 200's

yeah i was expecting for them to do a complete installation from start to finish. Tonights show sucked to they just went over the features of evox. Maybe tomorrow they will actually show the hdd installation in full.

yeah it did suck :( but lets hope the future shows will show allot more details

Well the 2nd night of this and all I can say is what happened? Just a very generic in general discussion of all you have with Evo-X. They did show some of the options which was nice and showed different skins but I don't know if this is going to be worth watching, oh well.... :(

Their website has some links and info but that's limited too. I was hoping for more...

tonoght they will be replacing the HD, and i'll bet all we are going to see is the drive, already installed, and maybe some of the utilities that were used to format it and get it ready. my feeling is it will be very vague, as the last two episodes

unfortunately i agree with you Mitsu50. They are being so vague that it wont be even worth watching. Then again Megan will be there so ............. ^_^

well, as expected it sucked, more info is needed, and like mitsu said the rest of the weeks shows are going to suck also ,too vague. I feel sorry for those who were relying on the show to learn some stuff:(

I think most of us in this forum knows about chipping and stuffs. This TV show is made for people who don't know jack about xbox chipping and hacking, so to get some IDEA on what and how to do it. Sad as to find more and more people knows about this the quicker the games companies go bankrupts due to everyone will play backups...

I saw the show ronight and I'm one of those who wanted to learn something about this. I've been considering this since my PS2 is chipped and since I own an X-Box I wanted to look into it. Well all I can say is this show really hasn't helped me all that much I guess if they really got into it they most likely would be in very hot water from MS... oh well I'm :( ....

But the X-Box really has alot to enjoy and take advantage of though. Who knows maybe I'll splurge.) :round:

well as expected it was very vague indeed. It will be interesting tonight to see what they show as far as backing up games. i bet they'll just show you the files on the HD, and the evox.ini, and maybe show a game boot up. and thats all! any bets??? ;)

I didn't get to see the 7pm show so I'll be watching at 10pm but you're most likely right on this one... if they show that at all... :uhwell:

Update... What they showed was cool but they went so fast that they really didn't get into anything at all. Just a few pictures and mp3's and some file sharing elements but nothing in depth. :(

Yeah so far boxplorer has not been mentioned at all, maybe it will be mentioned on tonights show. There has been quite a bit of software and info left out, I guess because of their 15 minute limitation.

well i missed it as well. usually they do it about 20 or so minutes into the show. i turned it on late. oh well, looks like i was right, and didnt miss much.

actually u didnt miss anything mitsu50 lol the show is really not worth it. Maybe if Yoshi would do the presenting more stuff would be shown (since i never liked that kid) plus morgan is leaving and going with sessler (i hate him too lol)

To be honest with you I think, not matter how vague the show is, its great publicity for the xbox...
at the moment its still way behind the PS2 mainly because of the fact that not a huge amount of people actually know what else this machine can do other than play games!
If there were more shows like this people would actually start to buy more and start playin around... :)

I just watched all 5 parts, and I'm glad I did. I hadn't really given TOO much thought to chipping till recently and seeing how the media player works drove me over the edge. Plus the no solder chips kick ***. OF course if I had been actively looking for this stuff I woud have found it, but I wasn't so thie show helped me some.
