Well 1 st. let me say i am a rookie at this putter stuff !
I have a question regarding trying to install my 2 week old dig camera.
I am running win 98 se, on a hp pavilion pent 3.
when i go to install my software and drivers for my camera, A pop-up sign opens and says thus. STOP you must update to the latest cd rom driver before installing this camera. So i go to Device manager and see that i have a adaptec dvd-rom , and the firmware is version sr-8585
and no conflicts with this device. So my question is among the 1 zillion choices in the www. How do i find the correct driver for this?
If you need additional questions , Help me out here i am a ROOKIE and will do the best of my ability to answer your questions.

This is the driver http://www.mke.panasonic.co.jp/data/mkehp/docs/driver/udfr304.exe

Are you sure this is a SR8585? because that model is DVD Ram not Rom. :cool:

well when i go to device manager that is what it says word for word
MATSHITA DVD-ROM- SR8585
