I bought a gameshark for PS2 over a year ago and I never used it. Now I wanna use it but i can't find the stupid PS2 code disc. Does anybody know if it could be burned and somebody could send it to me and i could burn it to a cd-r or something. Any help is appreciated.

If you use a burnt copy u will need a modchip.
THey are easily found to download , search.

Well I was thinking since its not a game maybe it would work without a mod chip... but it wont?
I searched on Kazaa and didn't find any that worked.

who say the gameshark isnt a game? sure you cant play it but it has ps2 codes in it.

Unless you have a No Swap Chip, a burned gameshark2 disk is useless

yup, even the messiah2 can't run a burnt gameshark or code breaker, i've tried, sure it works but it wont load when you swap to the game.

So looks like im SOL. Well hopefully Ill find it somewhere in my room. :\

and yes you still need the dongle

zev, you said you're backup works. I have the dongle, did you say you don't have a chip and it works or what is the "magic 3.1"? Is that a mod-chip? Is there anyway to do it without a chip?

yes the dvd region x works great to boot up gamesharks if you use the swipe card method. the magic 3.1 is a chip and the messiah 2 can boot up a gameshark and load games just it takes a few tries to stop it freezing. :D

You have to excuse me for not knowing diddly poo about Backing Up games but what is dvd region x? Ive read about the method where u take a card or something and flick a switch in the tray of the ps2. This really works? So, talking slow and in easy words, how do I make a burn Gameshark and get it to work on my ps2 without a chip.

DVD region x is a disc that lets you play multi region dvd movies it also works with swipe card method - http://www.cousinfizz.4mg.com/ . Go to the ps2 iso sticky thread and serch for crytpbreaker then download the ar u want. burn it to a disc and use the method on cuzzs site.

Ok, when I burn can I use a cd burner cause I dont have a DVD burner. Also what kind of program do I use to burn it? Can I just use Nero or something?

The new Gameshark 2 version 3 works fine , and best of all you don't need a dongle!!!! I have it and it works great. But you cant do region free on the v7 Messiah 2 like mine :( just dont work :(

Any way you can upload your version 3 disc somewhere so I can snag it?
I've got a V2 gameshark and don't feel like paying another $40+ for V3.

I was wondering this for a while: Can you boot a backup GS2 and then a backup game with codes?? (with a no-swap chip)

I looked around for one of the images of the onez that don't need the dongle but all I could find was 1.9 which needs the dongle.

yeah u can. i know aguy who used this.

1) He inserted dvd region x original.

2)Swipe card mthod and replaced with backup gs2.

3)Select Codes

4) Start game with codes. insert big toc dvd.

5)wait 5-10 secs press x replace with backup quikly game would then load.

Thats the longest way to boot backups!
