if it can then it'll save alot of dvd rs cuz like when you bo burn or try out games you dont like then just erase and actually burn the good ones to dvd rs.

If they don't work then you will have to stick to a good brand of DVD-R. There is no gaurantee that Rewritable media will play in all PS2s (most posts I have read they haven't worked).
