I have a PS2 modded with a Neo 4 Chip for a year or so, I have just got some new stuff for my son to play and It wont boot the DVD-R.
I have read somewhere about the boot swop trick, boot with large TOC Disk (I have tried Max Payne) then swop and boot again from the gold disk when it appears on the screen, but it still refuses to play anything, any help would be appreciated.

1/press x for browser screen
2/insert large toc disc
3/press and hold eject
4/when gold disc appears highlight gold disc and release eject,
drawer will open,then quickly swap disc and press x while drawer closes
5/play the game

Thanks for the reply Mate, I have tried all the damm disks I have and they do not allow it too boot.....I wonder if the only Originals that we have are too small TOC !!!!!!!
Thats a ***** :( will have to find out what Original works and go buy it ...(Shock ..horror) :((:((

I just use a demo disc off
official ps2 mag

What any Demo Disk ??????? as I have 3 of em and they didnt work either :(

do you know what size the toc is on the games you want to play?
also the toc of your demo discs?

Get Devil May Cry original it has the alrgets toc, or the DMC demo that comes with code veronica both 4.36gb

Also grand theft auto will work for you
it has large TOC

i had loads of problems booting dvdrs tried many methods and it never worked. Recently tried swap magic disc and it works every time.

I have the same setup, but when I release the eject button the drawer does not open. It boots cd-r fine, but I cannot boot dvd-r.
