I have a Pacific Digital cd burner. Its 32x12x48. I thought it was going to be fast but it takes around 8-10min just to burn a mix cd or to copy a music cd. I thought it would be fast like around 3-5min. I hooked everything up correctly. Could it be my computer? Or is my burner working right?

Check that DMA is enabled. Also are you copying on the fly or from your HD?

Mp3's to audio CD on the fly? This is somewhat CPU intensive.. What are the specs of your PC.

DMA = Direct Memory Access and enabling it depends on what version of windows you run. If you do a search you should find instructions for whatever OS you are running.

All I know is my computer is a Compaq Presario 7360. It has 500Mhz and 184Ram. If you need more info I can look it up.

had (and still have) the same problem as you. you can check out my post here...

my system has about he same specs as yours (p3 450mhz 448mb ram) and it takes about 8 mins to burn on the fly (cd to cd). nothing i did helped it much. i figured that some of the lag just has to do w/ my system being outdated.

i did notice that if i burn directly from the hard drive (ie d/l'ing music then burning them) it only takes about 3 min for a full cd.
