Help!!

For some reason, this drive(Yamaha CRW-F1ZE) wont read random files, mostly image files. I have no idea what could be wrong. I put my old cendyne in and it reads these files, so I know its the yamaha. I looked at my error log and there's this posted numerous times. Cdrom - The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block - whatever that means. Ive updated the firmware and written yamaha. I received no reply. I really dont know what else I can do other than try to return the drive. Any suggestions?

by the way the image files are mixed and matched...jpeg,psd,bmp and they are on different discs. Some are incd formatted and some are on burned cdr

Ive tried the drive on two different computers with two different os's (win98se,winxp pro) doesnt read on either but the cendyne does.

If the drive is getting old or has had a lot of use it's probably getting dirty. You can have a crack at cleaning it yourself: http://www.deinmeister.de/cdrep_e.htm

If it's a new drive then return it, it looks like it's faulty.
