do you know of a way to detect if macrovision is used on a movie or not ?

i want to video tape some films for my daughter to watch up in her room , some movies have no m/v and some do have m/v , the only way i can tell if there is or not is to try and record it and see if it records ok but this is time consuming so i would prefer if i could detect the m/v by some means on the pc , do you know of any way .
The movies that do have m/v i intend to play from pc and use tv out to record to my vcr but this is inconvienient so i need to record as many as possible from my standalone .
My dvd player has no hack to remove macrovision by the way but i thought everyone removed m/v when ripping , apparently not .

download dvd decryptor or smartripper and put your disk in, when you load it it will tell you what protections are on the disks

i dont think it tells you about macrovision because i tried this as my copy of lilo and stitch is unrecordable on the vcr and i cant see anything telling me it has macrovision in dvd decrypter or smart ripper .

if someone can point me to a bit in these proggys that do tell you if macrovision is used i would be grateful .

if you connect a video stabliser between the two players macrovision is blocked so you get a better picture.of coarse i cannot condone this but it will enable perfect copys lol

For no macrovision at all you need the macrovision box, you can actually buy them on ebay.com search for 'macrovision'.....

If you FF a vhs video & see black & white bars on the top of the screen, its got macrovision.
