I know all the info regarding backing up pc originalsbut my question is is the protection still there on the isos released by the likes of fairlight etc.I ask this because once ive burned the downloaded isos the copy works no probs but when recopying using clonecd a lot of the newer stuff doesnt work when imaging from the working disk Ive made.

I dont have enough hd space to keep the isos on there for long so recopying from the cd's is the only choice ive got-Ive tried every bit of spoftware known to man but the likes of splinter cell, freelancer & black hawk down always freeze around 87% on the install
Ive got around this in the end by copying the files via isobister onto the hd & burning them as a data disk-but its a long winded & slow process-surely theres a better way???

any help or comments are appreciated-I have a plex & a liteon writer so I know they both support the majority of protections so dont really understand what the problem is

If they are cracked which I think all the releases you speak of are, then there is no protection on the copy, that is why a crack is needed to run them.

Check the CloneCD log to make sure that there are no read errors. Also what program did you use to burn the BIN/CUE's to CD in the first place? Because if it were Nero, then that could be part of the problem.

cheers for reply m8,& yes I do use nero to burn the bin/cue files (cdrwin doesnt recognise my liteon writer).have tried a few more probs & have had a 100% success rate using diskjuggler 4 on the fly copy-odd because I always rated this as the worst of the bucnh.

Discjuggler is currently the only burning program that actually reads AND writes the pregap data on safedisc 2.8 protected games. other burning programs like alcohol 120 dont readit but they automatically insert a generic pregap to the disc.

We are talking about cracked games here though, so pre-gap does not matter. Also as I understand it, hardware willing CloneCD will also copy the pre-gap.

I dont know what your setup is, but I have no problem copying backup games, I just pop the backup in my Pioneer 115, read it using CloneCD and once its done its starts to write in my cd writer, dont have any problems.
