I have a hewlett packard pc brought made about a year ago

booted up windows, opened nero and says chose recorded and only virtual device was available

So i opened another burning program easy cd creater and it list the drive as non compatible cdrw drive

I changed back to my old drive and everything worked normal


IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO??

I know it aint the drive as i checked it in another PC and fine
I got new nero
i know the jumpers etc are right as i install programs with the drive just cant burn

Update to the latest version of Nero or easy cd creator i had the same thing when i got my new drive.

Nero ussally support all kind of cdrw drive, only cdrwin who's lack of support new cdrom drive which is pretty sux!!! :)

Are you using an OEM version of Nero i.e. one that came with a specific burner ? If you are and you change burners, you may find that Nero will not detect it. As suggested, you need the full version of Nero or, more importantly, a full serial number.

I installed a new version of nero of the drive itself after i put it in

full with serial new version

anyone?
