download the patch from gamecopy world www.gamecopyworld.com
copy the entire contents of the champ man 4 cd into a folder on your pc

extract the patch intto this folder and when prompted let it overwrite

burn the contents back onto a cdr (nero / data cd is good)

make sure that any previous instalations are uninstalled

and reinstall off your new burnt cdr

play game.................................

Just like to point out that it is never a good idea to replace the original EXE.. At least move it somewhere else on the disc, so that it can be easily found when needed.

u say replace the file, but there is not a file to replace that is called
ims-cm4.rar.

i am looking to make some backups for other people will they be able to install and run properly if i put it all on a cd for them.

when i download the patch it comes up as a rar file? is this right coz it does not let me open it.

u need to download win rar, its like winzip, goto

and download the trial version, then open ims-cm4.rar file and extract it to the folder where u copyed the enitire contents of the champ man 4 cd and when prompted let it overwrite, then when u burn the contents back to a cdr when they install the game the already cracked exe will be installed, (the one you have overwritten), which will then allow u to play the game without the cd in the drive.........

the file that needs to be replaced is called "cm4.exe", its on the champ man 4 root of the cd-rom, and its also in the rar file that you downloaded

but the thing is, i need to make 20 and they have to be able to install and run it on there computers.

can u still play it as normal and is it a clone?

its not a clone, and they will be able to install it as if it were the original, and it will play like the original, and no they wont have to patch it cos it will be already done

so will any of the game be missing??

if its exacly the same?

have u tryed the methed above?, the game itself is only about 241meg, just follow that method, it will be an exact working copy, nothin missing, nothing different................................

im just about to try ur method for making a cloned copy of cm4 as per ur instructions.

Thing is do you know if doing this will make it still be ok for installing the enhancement pack 1. As ive tried to do it with the cloned version of cm4 and once the enhancement pack has been installed the game then asks for the cd, as the exe thats been installed is not cracked!

dont really follow the game itself, not my type of thing, but i presume that the enhancement pack will update the "cm4.exe" or replace it totally, either find a newer patch for the for the updated "cm4.exe" or re extract the patched "cm4.exe" once the enhancement pack has been installed, its worth a try

This is what i have done and it has not worked.


1-made a new folder on the desktop called champ

2-copied the files off the cd and put it into the champ folder

3-downloaded the patch

4-put the patch into the champ folder

5-opened the patch

6-extracted the file and it asked me to overwritem i said yes.

7-burnt the files onto CD using Nero (as a data cd)

8- tried installing it and it just freezes on 0%

i am from London so i got the UK version to.

the only thing i can see wrong with the way u did it was "put the patch into the champ folder" just extract it into it, then burn the contents back onto cdr, then uninstall any previous installation that you made, and re-install off the cdr youve just written..............it works for me and about ten of my mates

u see if you have installed it with lets say the original or unworking cloned copy then thats installed the unpatched original "cm4.exe", and it still wont find the original cd, whereas if you do a clean install off the method i have used it wont even look for the cd when the game starts up........

tried it again but i did not work. the only thing i did diferent this time was that i extracted the patch which was on the desktop into the cm4 folder.

so i dont know why it did not work.

i have got the original and i unistalled it.

then i did what u said and tried to install it and it did not work.

can u put up step by step instrctions on how to do it.

im sorry mate, i`m just tryin to help people here ive just been through that method again, from the original cd, and it works absolutely fine, try downloading the patch from the new link ive put up at the top of this thread

downloaded the file and it says its corupt when i go to open the patch.

i give up!! dunno why it worked for u and not me.

well ive heard that the clone method means having 2 disc`s, one to setup and another to have in the drive while it plays

I tried cloning champ manager 4 and it didnt work, cloney xll says its protected with securom new (cant remember the version but it was 4.****) I then tried your method "TheCheekyMonkey" and its worked perfectly, I used a Liteon 32x writer to burn the data with Nero

Anyone who is having problems might want to try reading the CD to an image and then using WinISO or UltraISO to replace the EXE within it.

Ok spursman here’s how I did it
Put the cm4 game into cd writer and exit it if it starts to autorun
Make a new folder in say My Documents (call it cm4) to store the game on your hard drive. Double click on My Computer and then right click on your cd writer and select explore you should now see the files on the cm4 cd. Highlight the first file and then press Ctrl and A to select all the files right click and select copy. Then open cm4 folder in My Documents and right click and select paste this should copy all the files from the cm4 cd to your harddrive.
Now to apply the patch that you downloaded to do that I just double click the winrar file to open it then you click the extract to button in winrar navigate to the cm4 folder in My Documents and click ok you get a message that the file already exists and do you want to overwrite it click yes.
Now all you have to do is copy it all to disk using Nero I used Nero wizard to make a data disk.
Open Nero and if the wizard don’t start automatically click wizard the first box that opens should be cd ticked click next tick compile a new cd click next tick data cd click next tick Create a new data-cd click next again and then finish. Now find your cm4 folder and open it so you see all the files in the far right hand box select all the files and drag them over to the left hand side under new, click the burn button and you should end up with a working copy of Champ Manager 4

You all have to remember that everytime a new patch comes out then you will have to find a new crack to continue to run the game.

I've just added the enhanced pack and then just copied the first no cd patch back in to where the games loaded C:\Program Files\Eidos Interactive\CM4 and it all works ok

What he means is that you have a cracked say v1.0 EXE. If they release an official v1.01 update, then you would need a cracked v1.01 EXE. Also, you may not be able to install an update without the original EXE.

look at the version number in the bottom right

when you copy yhe old cm4.exe back over the update you revert back

hes right, the enhancement pack may update other files, but i think the main one to be updated will be the "cm4.exe" so when u "re-install" the patch alls u are doing is actually downgrading it again, until someone comes out with a proper v4.03 no-cd patch u will have to wait

i have followed ur intsrtuctions and it works but when i start up a new game, i select my league when the bar for creating new game is filled and just as initilizing leagues is filled i get the message say cm4 has cause an error with cm4.exe. WOT shall i do?

ain`t got a clue, sounds like could possibly be a corrupt file, but to be honest it could be anything......sorry mate, to be honest with you i dont even like footy, i just did a copy for a mate of mine, then posted the way i did it on here, ive only played as far as the title screen....lol sorry folks

So do you replace the original exe with the exe from the noCD patch v.404
BEFORE burning to CD, or is it OK to copy the contents to another cd, then install the game and then replace the exe?
