I recently (2 days ago) had ez cd creator 5 platinum working perfectly on my pc....

I tried to upgrade to ez cd and dvd creator 6 and all of a sudden my burner could only write at 1X...so i went back to ez cd creator 5 platinum and still, can only write at 1X...like i said, before, i could write at 24X if i wanted to...

Today, I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled all my programs...still can only write at 1x....what's the problem here? Is it a registry thing? let me know please...

BTW the programs and keys are all legit, i actually bought it.

Seeing you've started from scratch again I can only assume that your EZCD5 version doesn't have the correct drive support for your burner. Had you previously maybe downloaded a device update from Roxio for V5. Still you'd think that V6 would have the right drivers so maybe there's another reason?

Well like I said in the 1st sentence, before I even started all of this and even tried to upgrade to ez cd 6, ez cd 5 platinum was working perfectly...

Yes but in your original setup did you need to update EZCD5 at some stage with latest drive support? I guess you didn't but that's the only answer I can think of assuming you reinstalled everything correctly. From memory Roxio released a patch to fix a problem with XP and EZCD5. Could this be an issue? Seeing you have a legit version of EZCD have you tried Roxio support?
