The unit will not have a headphone jack; Nintendo has created a special adapter for the GBA SP that plugs into a brand-new multi-access port (also used for the AC adapter) which enables users to plug in standard headphones. I know what you mean about difficulties seeing the image on the gameboy advance screen, but i presume that is why they added the back light. Why not just trot along to a local electronics store and ask to test play one? The screen is ok now with the backlight on. so no more sitting under a flood light and holding the sp at wierd angles to see the games.
