Hi there !
I got a DVD-writer recently and tried to backup some games. Unfortunately (lucky me...), when I tried to boot them on my ps2 using the double swap with a gameshark2 v2, all it does is spin a little and then go silent, leaving me with a frozen gameshark screen.
I'm using a Sony DRU500AX and burned the backups on a DVD-r using RecordNowDX (given with the writer). The game I'm trying to boot is Dynasty Warriors 4 (in case it's important) using Metal Gear Solid 2 as the original on a ver. 4 ps2 with a neo 2.2 chip (I think... I'm not sure what version of neo it is, it can play cd-r backups just fine with the simple swap, even those over 630 MB, but I absolutely have to hold reset 7 seconds approximately when the ps2 is in Standby mode to make the tray open during the bootup sequence).
I tried many ways to boot the dvd backup : all the ones listed on www.ps2docs.com and also all the ones listed here http://forums.psxforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=2041
None have made my dvd backup even try to run. I also tried with a backup of MVP Baseball 2003 unpatched, and it does exactly the same thing, which makes me think that maybe I need to patch DW4, but since I'm not sure I wanted to ask around first. I also tried running a dvd+r backup version of DW4 but to no avail.
I'm all out of ideas, anyone can help ?
