Hey all. I just finished encoding some DivX movies, and now I need to burn 'em to CD. Thing is, Nero won't let me overburn! I set the overburn to 90min(it only needs 82, but I put 90 just to be safe), and writing mode to Disc-At-Once. However, Nero keeps saying that there is not enough room on the media, I'm using blank Verbatim DataLifes that are rated for 80min.

overburn will let you burn prob a few minutes extra but 10 minutes i dont think will work. mine is set to 82 mins and i have had no problems. try lowering the setting

Try using other media, and you can always get 99 min CD's.

Or try setting the setting to 83....?

OK, thanks...I'll give that a try.

OK...still isn't working for some odd reason. Set OverBurn to 82minutes, and it still says the compilation doesn't have enough room! I set it to Disc-At-Once, because Nero said "Overburning for Disc-At-Once" mode or something. What do I do now?

What is your burner? Maybe it is not overburn capable?

It's a Toshiba SD-R3212....combo drive. Funny, because I know I can overburn on my ancient 16x Plextor...and I need to burn it on the laptop. It's only 707.4MB...just a little overburn.

I can't see anywhere where it says it is overburn capable. Have you looked at what Nero says is the recorder properties?

Where would I find that...for some reason, all I have is Nero Express, and the infoTool doesn't say anything 'bout overburning.

On my Nero you can switch between express & normal mode however I have read somewhere where only express was available. Can't remember why but maybe something to do with licenses or serials or something. You can try downloading the latest trial version of Nero or maybe another overburn capable proggie to check.

Right...that makes sense. I have 5.5.5.9 OEM...perhaps that has something to do with it?

Make sure u have the option DISC AT ONCE set, while burning with nero.
It can be found in the write dialog after klikking on the BURN icon.
Options like TRACK AT ONCE won't overburn. Also DON'T select a multisession CD-R. That only supports TRACK at ONCE

Ofcourse this is in the express mode. Perhaps you could download a (demo) version at www.ahead.de to get into the express mode
