I think so. I like the xbox ver. better. I played the GC edition also and I could tell a slight difference in game play and quality. Smoother shapes vivid colors. But it also helps if you have a widescreen HDTV. You can play the xbox ver. in 480p and 720p but when you play at 720p the game shrinks to 4:3 size not 16:9 widescreen. Thats the only drawback i guess. (Being honest here.) I hope they change that in the US version.

This feels like Tekken with swords, a button masher for sure. I'm waiting for VF4 EVO to come, I have that for PS2, now that is a great ****ing fighting game

The new version is definitely better. Characters look amazing - animations are smooth. This puts crap like Tao Feng in the proper perspective.

I prefer the PS2 version, I think the PS2 controller is better suited to the game (I usually prefer the Xbox controller for most games). The Weapon Master Mode is enthralling.

I played this game for like 20 hours this weekend. I almost got divorced over it!

I havent played the DC version in a while but if I recall the Graphics were great on that, so I dont think theres a big load of differance.

I also prefer the PS2 version, there both the same, just each has a different character ... it boils down to what pad you prefer.

I still play my DC Soul Calibur.... I have played both XBox and PS2 versions... I prefer the XBox over PS2 and DreamCast as it is pretty much the same game w/ enhancements.

Has anyone noticed that SC2 is slower in xbox than ps2?!? I have the game installed on hd and its slower than ps2 version, could it be that the HD cant run in properly? If it's that slow the xbox version sucks big time... Like i'm playing the freaking PAL version of Tekken Tag Touranment all over again ;)

basically, to run the game at 60 Hz, meaning sixty frames per second, u must Root mean square the options in Soul Calibur 2 using Spawn. HOWEVER, to accomplish this, u must subtract Spawn's bicep muscle and use that as the controller, if u cannot get to that stage perhaps try change the RPM of ur Hard Disk Drive. It should be running at 7200 beats per F12, get it to 10,000 F12.

I belive that should solve the vector quantity of this probel you as a human face!

i just got one question. I am trying to dl soul calibur 2 somebody sent it to me but the damn thing does not work. cant exact the iso. gets to like 82-84 percent then says soul.iso failed. This lead me to belive the i dont have all the files required for this game. how many files are there and who could hook me up with the ones i am missing. I need the files for the xbox version. I have x-soulc2 1-12. but i think my 12 is the wrong size. all other file sizes are 48,829. my file 12 is only 12,974. I think i am missing the rar file. How knows any help would be cool. and if somebody could hook me up with the missing files it would be cool. I have cable,dsl and T3 so dl it fast is not a problem.

I like SC2 on the xbox very much.... i dont think much off this thread tho.

My version of the game tho is in japenese so i cant understand a thing, and since i havent played any of the other versions i have no clue how to unlock characters and play that single player game where it keeps telling you to do stuff (in jap, doh)

Played it on ps2 and xbox,Imo the xbox has slightly better graphics(sharper with a bit more detail) and sound but i preffered ps2 gamepad to the xbox pad.

Forget the PS2 pad... I just use the cobra racing wheel for analog superiority.

only issue i've had with sould calibur 2 (both us and jap) is that the in game reset (back, black and both triggers) doesn't work- just goes to a blank screen

just to throw a spanner into the works, i have played all 3 and i prefer (although i hate to admit) the GC version better. the pad layout for the game is awesome, and link is better than "your pissin me off" spawn and heiachi. Although i think none of them should have been included as they dont fit in

Speaking of bugs, I heard the wombat can spit black locusts at you that take away 73% of your health... quite a trick with the placement of the white button. Just got the FPS master to help me out though. Couldn't be simpler now.
