I would definitely get the Pioneer105 over the Teac. The big drawback to the Teac is that so far they only seem compatible with Nero's software so you will be very limited to which programs you can use. The 105 on the other hand will work with Nero, Prassi, DVD X COPY, Recordnow Max and a whole list of others. I will do a search around the net and let you know what I find. Okay just found them in-stock at BigPockets for 199 pounds. Go to www.bigpockets.co.uk to have a look. I would try giving them a call though to verify that they have them in stock (sometimes websites aren't quite up to date on what is in stock).

Sure but that is the one that only burns DVD-R at 1x right. The Pioneer for an extra 50 pounds will do up to 4x and has all sorts of nifty firmware hacks comming out for it (currently 2x4all is out and 4x4all is on the way). With the Panasonic you are paying quite a bit for the DVD-RAM function which won't do you any good outside your PC unless you have a standalone DVD Burner that supports DVD-RAM. Alot of support available for the Pioneer since a large number of users have the 105/A05 but only a handful it seems have the Panasonic. The Panasonic isn't a bad drive I just think that the Pioneer105 will offer so much more for an additional 50 pounds. As for the 25 blanks thrown in they are probably cheap unbranded General Purpose media (Not a Ritek or Princo dye) which are known to have compatibility issues with a number of players so they might end up not being worth anything if your DVD player can't read them. Even if they do work I would take the Pioneer's current ability to do virtually all cheap 1x media at 2x. The Panasonic will take about an hour to burn your favorite movie and the Pioneer with the hacked firmware will do it in around 30 minutes. I would much rather have the higher speed writing capabilities.
