hey people,

just wondering if someone can help me. i have an xbox with evox installed. a few other people play my xbox and one or two have a habit of doing things they're not supposed to. anyway, i read that if you have evox installed that you shouldn't update ur xbox with the xbox live update for the dash as it can cause complications. i know not to do this myself, but i wouldn't trust the others not to do it. so basically i wanna know if i can update it myself the right way so they don't do it accidently. so my question is:

am i able to uninstall evox, update the dash with a game, say unreal tournament or whatever, and then re-install evox?

if i can then i can do it easy. i am just not sure if i am able to put evox back on once the update has happened. also if anyone knows an easier way it would be much appreciated.

which modchip you use? Well get bios that can boot multidash. i.e. evoxdash.xbe. Then make a backup copy of xboxdash.xbe(this is the original MS dash) to your PC or another directory e.g drive e:.

SO if accidently anyone press live or whatever then what it does it rewrites/updates the original xboxdash.xbe in drive c:, and if that happens then with the multidash bios it will always boot 'evoxdash.xbe', and then FTP from PC or use xbox file manager tools(e.g. boXplorer) to transfer the backup copy of the xboxdash.xbe you made to drive c: of xbox.

ok, so as long as i have my original xbox files backed up, which i have from day one on a cd, if anything happens i should just be able to restore it back to the original state?

lucass: don't just back up the xboxdash.xbe (Original MS one)...back up ALL the files on ALL the drives...then you know you'll have it all good to go incase something nasty happens to the xbox...'cause I've heard that if Xbox Live detects a different xboxdash.xbe or a different BIOS image, then it'll mess with more than just xboxdash.xbe...so, always safe to be oversafe :)

i have backed up all the drives. all files.

i don't actually intend on running xbox live. i live in australia and we don't even officially get it till october. i just want to make sure someone doesn't screw up the xbox by installing the dashboard update while evox is running.
