Just checked over at www.xbox-scene.com and while they can't confirm anything's official there are STRONG rumors amoung retail stores that the XBOX console itself will drop down to 130 pounds and the bundle will be somwhere around 150 pounds. This is supposed to take effect Friday. MS is supposedly doing this to put further pressure on Nintendo whose Gamecube currently occupies this price range. for more info. check the link above.

Isn't the gamecube down to £80 with a game in argos now though? got mine when it was £130 :( there's a £30 off voucher in the gba sp too, so you could get a gc+game for £50.

Btw..i paid £400 for my xbox on import when it first came out.

An absolute bargain if you ask me (I paid £200 for one with four games). Never been a better time for gamers.

A price break on all systems for UK people it seems. If you have been sitting on the fence now is the time to buy.

Yeah but if you think about it its been $200 in the US since around about the time it came down to £200- thats about what the xbox is being sold for now here (in the uk)!! bit annoying don't you think?

True, but it is a well known fact that the UK is overpriced for all electronics. I know that doesn't come as any consolation but the point is that all UK electronics are very expensive and the XBOX isn't an exception. Oh well any kind of price break should be welcome in my opinion. You do have a valid point nimbles. Maybe it's time to start researching why electronics in the UK are so overpriced.

According to reuters.com the break is for european users not just the uk. Micro$oft is trying to steal the number 2 spot. It's a pretty dull article if you wanna read it. www.reuters.com

Yes, that is true apparently this is for all European countries. I just rechecked that article and confirmed it to be true.
