Hi there could someone tell me how to remove files that are used by another program etc. I have few movie files that i just can't delete but i need the space on my HD.

For example...

---------------------------
Error Deleting File or Folder
---------------------------
Cannot delete Narc-xvid: It is being used by another person or program.

Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Usually you should be able to delete this after restarting the computer but I would imagine you have already tried this.

Otherwise you should boot with a standard dos bootdisk (if on FAT32) and delete it through dos. If on ntfs, you will need to use your windows 2000/XP cd, boot from that and load the recovery console where you will be able to do it the same way.

Alternatively you can rename it and then delete it. This often works..

Have you tried Ctrl + Alt + Delete and closeing all programs from the Task Manager, then try to delete the files.
Just a thought.

or start winxp up in safe mode usually helps you get rid of the files.
