View Full Version : wont recognize pioneer 105

L337 |-|axor Apr 10, 2003, 08:02 PM ive had my 105 for osme time now and it works allright, but today i go to watch a dvd, and xp no longer recognizes the drive being there. like my driver is just gone or something. it just says its a cdrom drive, even tho it displays a dvd being in it. every program no reads it as having no disk in it. do i need to reinstall the drivers for it.. its kind of a weird problem that i have never encountered jesterrace777 Apr 10, 2003, 11:13 PM Sounds like it is time to update the firmware. The first time this happened my drives disappeared completely and the second time they appeared as hard drives and the third time they appeared as CD-ROM's and wouldn't read anything. You haven't installed any new burning software recently have you? If so try and remove it or use system restore to an early point. I had to do this because I couldn't recover my CD-RW's. Could be a similar problem? 9 Riverz Apr 11, 2003, 01:19 PM just detach your ide cable from your motherboard to your drive and retach it on a different slot of the ide cable. handyguy Apr 12, 2003, 11:23 AM If you run ezcd creator on XP this happens.....cause xp uses its own version of ezcd... youd have to search the net for the solution & use the restore function & get the newer ezcd. L337 |-|axor Apr 12, 2003, 07:17 PM if i go into my computer and **** it displays it as a cd-rom drive yet it also displays that there is a dvd in the drive, i just cant access it.. im not good at all with the internals of computers and it wouldnt be the best idea for me to start umplugging things. yes i have ran ez cd creator, so that may be the problem. so does anyone know what i can do? jesterrace777 Apr 13, 2003, 03:51 AM Could be a jumper problem. If one drive isn't set to Master and one set to Slave then this could give you the trouble that you are experiencing. rich-t May 13, 2003, 07:40 AM Did you get anywhere with this m8, I'm having very very similar problems with my A03 pioneer on firmware 2.0.
