I have been having problems with Stomp/RecordNow MAX over the past few weeks. It can't find any of my drives apart from an external USB Freecom CD-RW. I my PC I have a Panasonic DVD-RAM/R drive and a Sony DRU-500A. These don't show up. I have the latest PxEngine and Adaptec ASPI layer but these haven't made any difference. However on my other PC everything works fine and it's got a similar set up.

Why won't the drives appear. The only other recording software I have on the machine is Nero 5.

Any ideas because I'm really fed up with it now!! I want to burn some DVD files and really need Stomp to work (unless nero can do this?) :(

Thanks for any advice.

Simon

Do you by any chance have DLA installed with Stomp RNM?

It will clash with the In CD part of Nero if you do, I would uninstall Nero & Stomp and just reinstall Stomp without DLA. If you are running V4.5 of RNM then just click on "about" and you should see the build No end with ".358" which means there is no need to install the latest PX engine update as it is already in that build. ;)

This may work, it may not...but it's well worth trying IMO.

Thanks for the advice. When I installed RNM I didn't install the DLA part as I don't really have a use for it but I think I might try uninstalling everything (Nero and RNM) then re-install RNM and yes, it's V4.5 so it should already have the latest updates.

I'll try it later today when I get home from work and let u know.

Thanx

Just been thinking :) If this doesn't work I can still burn the files using Nero anyway because I'm using DVD2One which makes compliant files doesn't it? That's all I really need then. Just started to use this excellent program!

Yep, that should be fine. The latest version of Nero seems very stable with DVD burning by all acounts. In fact when you install RNM you get a warning if you have Nero installed as they clash, this is only because of the DLA issue. I find that if you uninstall Nero put RNM on and then reinstall Nero there are no problems at all with both on your system.

You might like to know that during my lunch hour I managed to master my VOBs using Nero on the DVD Video Option and everything worked fine. I have now got a fully compliant DVD and it works great!! :) I'll try to re-install both packages later this evening and see if RNM starts to work out of curiosity.

Thanks

make sure that the Patin Couffin Engine is installed correctly, look in Device Manager under VSO Devices, you should use this rather than ASPI

Yes .... I can confirm that by installing them this way round they seem to co-exist nicely.

Also I have had no probs with Nero's new release, they seem to have sorted out their compliancy issues.
