Hi
im copying some dvds that are already copies. Im using the wizard in the above version of nero to do straight dvd to dvd copies. The first time i did one it went fine with no errors at all the second time it came up with a power calibration error failed to write. I am using bulkpaq purple tops and am burning at 1x. Why would it work then now work ?? is it the version of nero where its quite new ?? which one would you recomend ?? or is it the media ? or something else ? anything i can try ??
please help
cheers

The new version of Nero is fine, I doubt if it's that.
If you were burning on the fly, that may be your problem ... if so try unticking the "on the fly" box. It'll take a little longer, but if there are any read errors, they'll get picked up, before the burning stage.
Also dont try to multitask whilst burning.
Never liked bulkpaq purple tops myself. I have best success with Riteks.

The only time I ever had that error was when I used low quality discs, since I switched to Ritek I've never seen it.

the problem is with the media m8, it seems that the 1X bulkpaq are complete crap.
i bought 50 the other week and used 25 fine but the second 25 all had calibration errors, you may find that sometimes they seem to burn ok but in fact, if you play the movie youll come across duff discs, some of the movie will play as it may be further in on the dvd that the error occured and cause you are burning without verify , you will not notice and nero will show burn completed successfully. i have had 5 dvds that seem to burn fine but are not.
i have just ordered 50X 4X princo white dvd-r's from bigpockets.co.uk for £60uk +p&p , will let you know what they are like but i have had some good ratings from friends that used them.
in future don't bother with the purple 1X bulkpaq as they are naff.

i would agree last week about bulkpaq being crap, but i have tried the new orange top 4 times speed and i must say they are great discs and only cost 99 pence. I have burnt 10 films and they boot up flawlessly on xbox, PS2 and every dvd stand alone player which i have tried them on. I would recommend them to anyone, give them a go, i dont think you will be disappointed.
