:confused: Can anyone tell me why i get coasters using infiniti dvd-r and yet i don't have a problem with infiniti dvd+r. I was told i could burn +/- with a sony dru500ax. Which is the best media to buy for this dvd writer.

That is odd. The dru500ax will burn +/- so that isn't the problem. I know that the 500ax is supposed to come with the latest firmware but you might check sony's website and see if there is a firmware update for it. For DVD-R media I always recommend anything with a dark purple Ritek dye as they will work in even the pickiest DVD players or drives. Did you buy this from a local store or over the internet? If all else fails you may need to return the drive and exchange it for a new one but if you bought it over the I-net that could be a little more complicated.
