theres like a image on www.vcdhelp.com which u burn to a cd and it updates some firmware and stuff in the player when the disk is played. its supposed to make it region/macrovision free and apparently u can change the screensaver on it.. just wondering if anyone has tried this?

Yep, that the only reason most people bought it. Great player, but you must make sure that the serial ends in A,B,C, or D (I think). They have a apex forum called nerdout or something like that where you can get more info.

Yep good forum. I have that player upgraded and is awesome. Has to be the right version to do the trick.
