Can someone tell me what the difference between the AC3 2-Ch English and the AC3 6-Ch English Audio files is? Which one is recommended to be kept and the other dropped using DVDShrink?

Thanks.

2 Ch is more for if you have it hooked up to a 2 channel or s speaker audio system, it only gives 2 audio challels, for better sound.

6 Ch is more for audio systems with 6 channels, like a Doby Digital receiver with 6.1

Well do you want 6 channel or 2 channel audio?

The 2-channel is regular stereo. The six channel is for 5.1 surround sound, 5 speakers and a powered sub. If you don't have a surround receiver then just rip the 2 channel.

Might want to check that it isn't the directors commentary first. It is possible to downmix 6channel audio to 2channel. However not with DVDShrink.

Yep, the Directors Comments are in 2-ch, there usually behind the movie 2ch audio example: 6ch is at 80x, 2Ch is at 81x, 2ch french is at 82x, 2ch directors comments is at 83x

Is there any difference in the loudness/volume between 6ch and 2ch?

doubt it, we're talking sound in digital format. Not analogue. So loudness won't be an issue. Unless you have crappy amp and speakers. In which case neither would be very good !

I only keep the 6 channel audio, because most players outputting through the 2 ch jacks automatically downsample to 2 ch, so the tv in the bedroom sounds fine with 6 ch. Of course, the 6 ch setup in the livingroom utilizes all 6 channels. Even if you don't have a surround receiver now, you may later.
