When ever I try to burn a data cd with nero it burns all the data, but then it gets an error when performing fixation, making the disc unusable. Also I have Easy CD Creator 5 Basic, and whenever I try to format a direct cd I also get an error about halfway through. they both worked fine before, but now they both don't work. All I am trying to burn is MP3's for my cd player (reads MP3 discs) Any help wouold be appreciated.

here you go M8, straight from the Ahead web site 4 U

Fixing failed
If fixation the CD fails, then it is usually for one of the following reasons:

An area of the CD is being written on which is outside the allowed area. To see if this is the case, please burn a small amount of data.

More frequently the following is the cause:

The CD becomes readable on being fixed. Usually 90s leadouts are written even though 10 - 15 s sould be enough. the length of the leadout is however determined by the CD Writer and can't be influenced. Thius means that after the first 10-15s have been written, then CD is finished and could be used.

The Nero driver however doen't block access to the CD for so long. It generally helps to deactivate the switch off the automatic .

Note: A CD with which Fixation fails is generally readable.

Thanks for the help, however I tried all of that and it still won't work. It still says that it cannot perform fixation. Also, it is not usable as my computer nor cd player will not read it

Hmmm, could this be the old EasyCD and nero combo ****?
try renaming these vxd files:
scsi1hlp.vxd - rename to scsi1hlp.bak
atapchng.vxd - rename to atapchng.bak (only if you do not have an IDE / ATAPI CD ROM multi-disc changer)
necatapi.vxd - rename to necatapi.bak (only if you do not have an NEC CD ROM)
torisan3.vxd - rename to torisan3.bak (only if you do not have a Torisan CD ROM multi-disc changer)
You can find them in the C:\Windows\System\Iosubsys\ directory

After renaming the files, restart your system and try NERO again. I hope this will fix it....

If not, rename the files to VXD again.
