I am looking for a mother board for an XP 1800 with potential for the new XP with FSB of 333.
Do not need Raid but need ATA133 LAN and SOUND. I am not too bothered about overclocking but would like to have a play with it.

Suggestions and prices would be greatly appreciated.

At present I am running with an Elite K7S5A and 2700 DDR

Abit NF7-S v2.0 and Epox 8RDA+ are for me the best amd boards.

The abit does not have lan, but has extra sata 150 (with adapter can use as ata133), easy to overclock.

The epox comes with all the features you want, and is quite easy to overclock if you want to play around with.

There is also the Asus A7N8X Deluxe, which has raid along with the features yo want.

Epox is £74.90
Abit £78.00
Asus £96.90

Prices from OcUK (http://www.overclockers.co.uk)

You can get them cheaper than that if you browse, and the above boards are amongst the best if you want cutting technology. But if you are after raid, ive heard the sata adapters are unreliable at best and best of going for a kt400 based board.

AOpen has 4 that meet your needs m8. All 4 have:

- VIA Chipsets (for the love of god, stay away from the Nvidia chipsets lol)
- FSB of 333MHz
- DDR400 (PC3200)
- LAN
- AGP 8x/4x
- ATA133
- USB 2.0

2 of the 4 also add the SATA and Firewire/1394

Excellent mobos, lots of nice features. Can't help you on pricing if you're in the UK. Personally I shop at NewEgg, Googlegear, and Outpost here in the US. :)

btw ... All AOpens are very OC-friendly. All the latest models support OC with 1MHz stepping and the 4 I mentioned support OC of 500MHz above rated speed. Here's the link:

does anybody know the performance difference b/w the abit nf7-s and the nf7-m. I recently had ordered the nf7-s, but i was thinking about returning it for the nf7-m because of the integrated gaphics.....i know i'm missing out on the serial SATA, but that doesn't have anything to do with overclocking and such
