hi ppl , im wanting to build me a new pc, but i have bits which may be of use, i just wanna know if they are, and if not, what i shud buy. i want the pc for internet/ music n video and gaming. ok heres what i aready have:-

1 gig athlon system

*256mb dimm,
*40 gig hdd - going to replace this with a ibm/hitachi 180 GXP 120gb 7200 rpm ata 2mb cache hdd oem,
*64mb geforce mx2.


lmk ppl what i need. i want the new machin 2 be fast fast fast, but not costing loads. lmk plz ppl, cheers, heath:beer: :tdown: :laugh: :cool:

Get something like an abit nf7s mobo, 512 pc3200 ram, radeon 9500pro/9700pro/geforce 4 graphics card 128mb, Keep your 40gig drive, forget about your ram and old graphics card, and get a processor like the 1700 t'bred if ou fancy taking a hand to overclocking, or something like a 2600xp if not. Do make sure you buy a good heatsink, like a thermalright slk800 or similar, it will pay dividends.

i would stear clear of IBM hard disks, and get a 8meg cache one, if you want it to be fast, fast, fast.

wd are good

keep the ram to save money but get rid of everything elses (but the ram might cause problems, so for what £40 for some good ddr it might not be worth it)
