Hey tzahi,
I suggest that you do upgrade to a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Dolby Digital card (preferably the Audigy/Audigy II Series). Not only do you get more options, you will get to hear your movies or video games in 6 channel surround sound. This is a must if you do not have a Home Theater of some kind and your computer is your closest to it.
The problem your going to run into is that you won't be able to hear a 5.1 channel setup because of your limited speakers. You only have a 4.1 speaker system which is satisfying enough for some folks and you can definately get great joy out of it, but if you really want that extra channel of sound your going to have to buy a completely new speaker system.
If you want to watch movies in 5.1 Dolby Digital you definately need that extra channel as to which its an added "Center Speaker" where all the dialogue of the movie comes from.
A 5.1 speaker system set is not that expensive if you look at the right places. Your budget will increase if higher the wattage of the speaker system (the higher the better the sound and power!) and so will the extra displayed features it has.
My opinion is to upgrade your sound at least to a Sound Blaster 5.1 Dolby Digital card. This way you have nothing to worry about the internal hardware of your computer and you could concentrate on looking around for a 5.1 Speaker System.
