i'm considering buying a digital camera but i know nothing about them.
i want to be able to take about 10-15 shots (6x4).
Would either of these be ok for that use if so which one of the 2 do you think is the best.

olympus (http://www.dixons.co.uk/store/martprd.dll/store/dix_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0854480145.105059888 5@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccciadcidhddeejcefecfgmdffgdflg.0&chain=Dixons&channel=WEB&browserName=ie&browserVersion=6&platform=pc&firstrun=yes&page=Product&timestamp=18:1:25&sku=633619&page=Product&chain=Dixons&channel=WEB&browserName=ie&browserVersion=6&platform=pc&timestamp=18:1:25&sku=633619&camp_id=easteremail)

kodak (http://www.dixons.co.uk/store/martprd.dll/store/dix_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1122692982.105059931 6@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccceadcidgmhkjlcefecfgmdffgdghn.0&chain=Dixons&channel=WEB&browserName=ie&browserVersion=6&platform=pc&firstrun=yes&page=Product&timestamp=18:8:35&sku=638603&page=Product&chain=Dixons&channel=WEB&browserName=ie&browserVersion=6&platform=pc&timestamp=18:8:35&sku=638603&camp_id=easteremail)

Thanks for any help

They will both take that amount of shots easily, and lots more besides. I didn't compare them, it depends what features you want from your camera. I have a Kodak, it's about 2years old old now 2.1M pixel & ideal for my uses. It's important to use good NiMh re-chargables as camera's of this sort can drain batteries quickly. HTH.

cheers m8 for the help.
i'm pleased to hear that either will easily do what i want it to do,but i can't decide between the 2.
features aren't really a issue i just wondered if one was better quality than the other and a better buy in general.

I can't comment on the Olympus but, I'm very satisfied with my Kodak. It seems to be built well enough as, I'm sure the Olympus is, I think they're both good brands. I know that's not much help either. I hope you're happy, with whichever one you choose.

i'm thinking more towards the olympus, don't relly know why .lol
are 7x5 picture reasonably good quality with these spec cameras?
how you ever payed to have any developed rather than printing them of yourself,if so roughy how much does it cost?
sorry for all the questions m8 but like i said i know absolutely nothing about digital cameras

Too many variables to cover tham all. Print quality depends on many things, i.e. the user can vary the quality of the photo in the camera settings (more or less pixels) print paper etc. In general my photo's have all looked as good as the "real thing". I printed them out A4 size too. I've never tried having them made into photos for me. I think Boots and Jessops doit, why not check out their sites?

just brought a kodak digital camera today from jessops (not sure if it's the same as u were looking at coz the links timed out) but while in jessops i saw they have a machine u can use to print out ur pictures. it was where u just put ur card in and choose wot to print out, seems like a good idea, can't remember exact prices but was somin like:

1-4 = 50p each
5-39 = 25p each
40+ = 15p each

don't quote me on the exact prices tho

Mayo, the kodak was a cx4200 priced at £99.89 and the olympus was a d380 for same price.
They have both been reduced from £149.99,in fact the olympus is still £149.99 at currys and pc world.
I looked on 'comet' website and you can get your pictures done with them for 29p each (6x4),don't know if that appeals to you or not.
Anyway m8 let me know how you're getting on with your new camera.
btw what model have you got ?

i got a slightly more expensive 1 the KodakCX4230. the cheeky buggers seem to have sold me a 2nd hand 1 coz when playing with it there was a picture of this random person saved on the internal memory?!?!?

it seems to be a good camera with some good features and when i've taken some proper pics i'll have to try out one of those stores that print them out to check the quality

anyway m8 what printer are you using?
i brought a new epson c62 only a month ago, hope it will be good enough for photos cos i don't fancy buying a new one already.
