I have a pioneer dvr-104 writing to good media, and all is well when I burn an image with NERO but if i try and use Primo or Record NOW to burn an image I get a job terminated with errors box taht says.

The type of job is incompatible with type of discs.

I have tryed various media and the fact that nero burns fine leads me to beleive that it is a software problem rather than a media/drive problem.
Primo and Record Now always report 0 good discs just below the burn progress bar. The Image is smaller than the Dvr. Ro dvd-roms need to be burned on a special type of dvd media? Some one please help!!!!!!!!!!!!! :confused:

There have been several reports of problems when having both Nero and Recordnow Max (Primo and RNM are essentially the same program) on your Computer together. If you can do it with a minimal of fuss then I would suggest trying removing Nero and then see if Recordnow Max or Prassi will work. Also have you checked out the DVD forum as there is a new px update for both Prassi and Recordnow Max and that might help you out as well if you haven't already done this. I hope this helps.

Thanks Jess, but it still isn't working, after what you suggested. Now my dvr drive isn't reading any recordable media. I can play around with the drive properdies under recording and get it to work some times but then I reboot and it goes back to saying that drive D is inacessable when I have a blank dvr in it. And somethimes it will open up the drive but dosen't recognize that it has any media in it saying 0 avalabel 0 used. I am running win xp pro so I have to got to the ata/atapi probertiesy to activate DMA. I am not sure what my setting here should be. I am alos not suer If I should stick with the windows burning driver or the dlm or whatever the burining utility that is packaged with burn now max. Any more suggestions would be greatly apriciated

hhmm i have no idea.. but i have both nero and record max and is doing fine with both of them... as you metion it seems like you install nero first.. just like me.. i have little problem with nero.. since any data it read it just read...sometime the disc is bad.. and still keep it.. which when you burn back out.. it's a coster... one way of trying to fix your drive.. try un-install the driver and than reboot.. so it'll auto install driver again..

What firmware are you running on the 104?

I am running the 1.4 firmware but the problem was still around when I was running the 1.3. The main problem now is that it just won't recognize that there is any recordable media in it some time it just says avalable space 0mb and 0mb used. Others it won't let me access The Dvr drive at all. I need to take care of this now pefor I can worry about my origanal problem above. I have deletted the drive and the addapter and let windows reinstall multible time. Help please

Have you gotten the PX Engine update?
