It can't be anything to do with controllers or drivers because he used all the stuff from his new Pc in his last one with XP pro. Only thing he upgraded when he re-built was the Mobo, Cpu, Memory and Case/PSU.
Everything worked fine on last pc even though it was a lower spec

when he upgrade did he reinstall windows?
as the pc MIGHT be trying to boot old drivers that aren there!
which is why thet error is comming up

Would the same apply if he was booting from cd?
I told him to see if he can get a boot from cd. Same outcome.
I think it is a re-install that is needed. Although I seem to remember when I got my mobo(Same one) that pc2700 had compatability issues.
He was told buy the supplier that it would work 100%
He is bringing it to my house later and I will plop a stick of my memory in before I re-install XP. just to see.
Thanks for help. Any more advice? Keep it coming guys.
