Optical or coaxial like on my surround receiver? And firewire, woohoo. Getting some bonuses on my purchase. ps2wiz Apr 24, 2003, 12:37 AM Optical. Ronaldsoft Apr 24, 2003, 02:47 AM S/PDIF or Sony/Philips Digital Interface. it's usually found on digital audio equipment such as a DAT machine or audio processing device. It allows the transfer of audio from one file to another without the conversion to and from an analog format, which could degrade the signal quality. The most common connector used for S/PDIF interface is an RCA connector, the same one used for consumer audio products. And optical is sometimes used. VWRabbit Apr 24, 2003, 11:57 AM By coaxial I meant RCA type connector. On my Sony surround receiver they refer to digital audio input as either optical or coaxial. The coaxial actually looks like a RCA type connector. I have also seen them referred to as component connector. Anyway, getting off topic, thanks for the info guys. |
