parlando22 Apr 28, 2003, 07:24 PM my pioneer DVR-105WB does not read dvd r/rw disc's but it does read dvds i just got it new and it is the first dvd burner ive used can anyone help please jesterrace777 Apr 29, 2003, 01:18 AM Okay first of all are you running the 105 on the same cable as another drive? (i.e. DVD-ROM, CD-RW, ect.) Secondly have you checked your jumpers to make sure that your DVD Burner is set to "Master" and the other drive is set to "Slave"? Third what DVD program are you using it with and have you tried it with another program? parlando22 Apr 29, 2003, 03:00 AM well... i do have a second cdrw drive hooked up but both drives are set to cable select... is this the problem? and i have tried many apps and none work. the problem is that when a dvdr/rw is inserted it tries and tries but nothing happens then when i go to a app (i.e disc juggler) the burn button is not able. anyway i hope you can help me now... thats all i know. jesterrace777 Apr 29, 2003, 04:32 AM Yes the problem sounds like how you have your drives configured. Check the back of both drives and you should see somthing that says something like "MAS" or "MA" ie Master and something like "SLA" or "SL" (Slave). Make sure that the jumper for the DVD burner is selected for Master and the jumper for the CD Burner is selected for slave. (I believe the 3rd option there is the cable select one which you are referring to). parlando22 Apr 29, 2003, 02:25 PM ok so i changed my the dvdr/rw drive to master and the cdr/rw drive to slave the problem persists any other ideas please im getting desperate Turkules Apr 29, 2003, 07:37 PM What type of windows r u using? And what software have u tried? It sounds like ur aspi drivers r either not installed or not installed properly. Download them from here www.yursoft.com/xbox/aspi.zip. Im pretty sure that this is the problem, so give it a try. I hope this helps. Tal jesterrace777 Apr 29, 2003, 11:28 PM The same guy who makes XISO???? Man I hope he is REALLY DESPERATE before he tries anything made by him. parlando22 May 01, 2003, 01:21 AM no luck. please help me jesterrace777 May 01, 2003, 02:47 AM What kind of media are you using? (It's a shot in the dark but what the hell). parlando22 May 01, 2003, 03:48 AM I've got Fujifilm DVD-RW's 4.7 GB for data and audio and some brand of DVD-R I've never heard of, Verbatim. Does anybody have the number to the Pioneer tech support line? I can't find it anywhere. 8ruc1e May 01, 2003, 06:14 AM Try using power dvd to run the dvd-r / rw the good thing with this is you can actually view the discs vob files individually. To make sure the drive is picking them up. Where did you get your dvd-r from not the blanks but the ones that are supposed to have something on them. You system config should be as follows:- 0/1 where applicable on your mobo ? Ide 0/1 Master Hard Drive Ide 0/1 slave CDR/Rw Ide 1/2 Master Pioneer Dvdr/rw If you have another dvdrom in the pc make it the slave in place of the cdr and move the cdr to the slave as the same channel as the dvdr/rw. Check the bios for ide channels are set to auto so the board picks up the devices then save and exit. Hope this helps parlando22 May 04, 2003, 07:10 PM what tool are you talking about. and i dont have any dvd-r/rw's with data on them the blanks just dont show up |
