gadgerman Apr 30, 2003, 01:20 PM I have a program that I recorded off the television on my shiny Panasonic E50 using DVD-ram ,edited out the commercials etc .Now I want to convert it to DVD-R so my father in law can watch it ? My Liteon 166 reads the disc and I can use PowerDVD to play it back ,I can copy the disc 1:1 but it's not in the DVD-R format and won't play on a stand alone. I'm waffling , how do I convert DVD-ram to DVD-R , Any help greatly appreciated

celtic_druid Apr 30, 2003, 09:10 PM Pretty sure that you need to rename the files as DVD-RAM doesn't use VOB's it uses something else VRO??
shaunyboy@work May 01, 2003, 08:08 AM i usually change the file extension from vro to vob, recode with cce and author with dvdmaestro.
gadgerman May 01, 2003, 08:50 AM many thanks i will try this later ,fingers crossed
handyguy May 01, 2003, 12:30 PM I wondered about this too because people said you could make a dvd-r from a dvdrm right on the panasonic itself. I haven't figured that out yet.
Its Odd your liteon can read that format too.
gadgerman May 03, 2003, 05:39 AM Found this on a related page ,I will try it today. It CCE didn't seem to keen to play . Thanks to all those who responded
Convert RAM Disc VR_MOVIE.VRO to DVD-R VST_01_1.vob
Create VIDEO_TS folder copy and rename *.VRO File to VST_01_1.vob,
create IFO files using ifoedit this will create a VIDEO_TS.IFO & VTS_01_1.IFO
Burn VIDEO_TS folder to DVR-R Disc - backup of RAM on DVD-R.
