Some games like splinter cell say they have content download, my question is can you still get this content if you use a backed up game? Or does it use Live to download it? Thanks

live neads to be used to download more levels and stuff so u cant use a backup, also u must make shure your chip is off.........

surely if u ftp them to ur box they will work the same??

the d/l content is xbox specific. when u d/l, it makes a note of your eeeprom, and will not work if you copy to another xbox. there is not workaround for this yet. IMHO live is well worth the $50 for content d/l and online play. so support it!!! :) :)

What if you rent the actual game when you want to get the content download, then switch back to the copy. Would that work?

that is totally possible. Just make sure your chip is turned off when you connect to LIVE.
