No.

There are Two versions a single layer and a dual layer.
Neither will boot with swap magic but the single layer version will boot with AR2 ver 2.0 using double swap

You can boot XenoSaga with Swap Magic, just played it 2mins ago.

It must be patched if its the DVD5 version, and DVD9 version only works on No swap chips.

Can you direct me to a patch please?

You'll have to search around PS2 Ownz site to find it.

All failed games now boot no problem.
