im in the market for a dvd burner im not sure what to look for im in the uk and want to back up dvds and ps2 plus do some data disks. recomendations would be great

Pioneer105/A05 would definitely be your best bet. Check out SVP as they currently have the bare OEM 105 going for 146 pounds. It is a DVD-R/-RW burner which is what you are going to want for a PS2 as most of them seem to only care for DVD-R media. DVD-R will also work great for movie backups and both DVD-R and -RW will work perfectly for Data storage.

Komplett UK (http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/k.asp?ck=1&r=1&action=info&p=31245) This NEC one is £140.11. Don't know much about it though :( i just got the site from www.computerprices.co.uk HTH

There is only about 6 pounds of difference between the Pioneer and the NEC so I would go with the Pioneer as DVD-R media is cheaper than DVD+R (especially in the UK).
