Roger The Shrubber May 15, 2003, 10:53 AM You can't make a dolby digital CD. First off The DTS encoding process has exclusive rights for 5.1 surround on CD. this is why you will never see a commercial CD encoded with Dolby. And no CD player made will play back a Dolby digital CD since they don't exsist. And since the Dolby audio track isn't a standard stereo, 16 bit, 44.1khz format, you probably couldn't burn it to a CD anyway. You have two other options. You can make a DVD audio disc with Dolby encoding or you can make a DTS CD. I would suggest going here http://www.minnetonkaaudio.com/home_3.htm and look at their products and do some reading. They will have all the info you need. PS. Be prepared to spend some serious money, it ain't cheap. I have to ask, why would you want to take a stereo format like CD or mp3 and turn it into Dolby digital? You're not going to gain anything from it. With the right software, you can encode an approximation from a decoded Dolby Surround 4-channel source (like many Asian bootleggers do with laserdisc Dolby Surround soundtrack transfers to Dolby Digital DVDs), but that's about it. Pretty much worthless. Joel Bluey May 16, 2003, 09:49 AM Try this link http://www.kellyindustries.com/diy_5_1.html Not quite what you are trying to do but it works well. |
