I have completed my first DVD backup last night. Tested it and it works fine on my PC, DVD but of course not on my XBOX. But my question is when i play it at the bottom of the screen it shows the words for the movie. How do i get the words off there. It was late when i did this so i may have missed something. Or is it the DVD itself, and just go into the menu and unselect that option??? I forget what that is called "hearing impaired" or something!!! Any ideas or suggestion greatly appreciated!!!!

Copied Movie DVD's should work fine on your XBOX (even un-modded), it's just the type of media that you're using.

As for the subtitles, well, I think if you can decrypt/rip, compress and burn a DVD, then you must know how to use a remote ;)

I thought that may be the case , you know the hardest things sometimes comes easy but somhow the little things can kill you. I have burned home movies on DVD with MYDVD software that worked with the xbox but burned this movie with NERO!!! Did i miss an option or a particular setting somewhere????

Make sure you have the latest version of Nero. Close the wizard and look at DVD-ROM UDF/ISO and tick the box to force compatibility with X Box.
Then select your VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders & burn.

those are closed captions you turn them on/off on your tv menu not the dvd.

yes there are two ways:
dvd setup--english subs
tv setup--captions, these have white letters on a grey background so you know what they are right away.
