Using Pioneer DVR - 105 ( firmware 1.30 ), Windows '98, DMA enabled and Nero 5.5.10.28.
My problem is, the Pioneer reads the disc, completes the ' copy over image ' stage but when I insert an empty media to write to, it comes up "burn process failed" and "power calibration error"
Anyone got any ideas please ??

"power calibration error" usually means that the laser cannot calibrate to the media being used.
In short, it doesn't like the disks. Try a good Ritek disk and you wont go far wrong.

Thanks for the advice but this has only started happening over the last few days. I have been using Datawrite yellows at x1 and superior at x2 for a while now with no problems.
Do you think the laser is buggered ?

It's possible, but it's equally possible you've picked up a bad batch of disks or some in your batch are dodgy.
Before looking at other reasons, I would try a good Ritek, as 90% of problems are normally down to media. Also, it's an easy one to eliminate.
