Now I know cd writers wouldnt read dvd's But i have a dvd/cd-rw combo on my laptop Just wondering if any of you ever heard of it and if so whats the site??

And no I aint making it up buy the mag if you dont beleive me

Already have a dvd burner on my pc but would like one on my laptop which is alot faster

Thanks guys

P.S didnt know where to put this as it relates to cd's and dvd so i stuck it in here Hope you dont mind

what i tmeans i think is you can use dvd reader to turn dvds into vcd using your cd writer
i keep getting loads of emails stating the same kind of thing
but who wants to bother with vcds anymore
I mean come on
no menus no extras 2 discs
and the time it takes is ridiculus

Yes these are 100% rip-offs that are brought to you by the same people who make those ebay auctions that say "Plasma TV for $150!!!". The software probably does work however you would have to downgrade to VCD quality or lower and rip out all special features, menus, chapters, ect. even on a movie that would be a 1:1 backup on a DVD burner. The other thing is I don't see how a software program is going to convert your CD Burner to be able to produce DVD compliant MPEG2 format discs. Save the money and use it toward the purchase of a DVD burner and you won't regret it.
