this may sound like an odd question but here goes....

i have an xbox and it is chipped. but to be honest i don't really know which chip is in it. when i got it done it was the first console i had gotten chipped and didn't really know what chip was best and so on. so i found a guy on the net, went to his house and he chipped it for me. now all i remember him saying it that it was the latest evox at teh time. however it didn't have anything installed on it (as in the evox dash), just chipped so i could play backups.

anyway, the chip works fine, i have never had a prob with games. only recently i have had to hex edit strings on some new games. i was reading if you updated the bios you could stop having to do this, so i figure, hey, i might as well update. but i don't know exactly what to do as i'm not sure what chip i have.

so i was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a way to find out. i have the evox dash installed, is there something i can look for in there to find out?

thanks in advance :)

How long ago did you purchase your pre-chipped XBOX?

What BIOS does EvoX report as being installed?

the actual xbox i got around a year ago, so it's a version 1 with a thomson drive, and it has been chipped for 9 months.

i searched around evox for anything i thought might help and found....

RemoteX V1.8.2594
RD Name: EvoX
Bios Version EvoX 2.4
Kernel Version: 1.00.4034.01

hope that helps someone help me :)

thanks.

well chances are it might not be a flashable chip, since its 9 months old. but it might be a homebrew type chip. the bios you are running is kind of old as well, since its the evox 2.4. you'll have to take the box apart, and have a look at the chip on the mobo. most a pic of it if you can then we can tell you what kind of chip it is.

Sounds like you have an enigma or Xecutor1 chip.
