Hi,

I have Internet Explorer 6 and have a small problem with the status ar. Everytime I open IE it's not there and I have to keep ticking the little box under 'view>status bar' which gets kind of irretaiting.

Is there anyway to set it to default for the status bar to be on?

Thanks for the help

Hi Nokia I Is,

There is a reg key associated with the status bar. In regedit this can be found at

HKey Current User\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main and the key
is Show_statusBar I think. Try editing the value for that to Yes.

I have to say though that this makes no difference to my IE so may be best to try a repair or reinstall of the software.

The status bar in IE6 on WinXP doesn't remain displayed. If the current IE window has a status bar and you Spawn/ Open a new window that one won't have a status bar. Here is a fix;

With (only one) IE window open, click View and select: Status Bar.
Hold down the Shift key and click the close button (upper right).
Open Windows Explorer, click View and select: Status Bar
Click Tools > Folder Options > View tab
Click the "Apply to all folders" button.
