DreamVsPS2 May 19, 2003, 11:15 PM so u can burn them on a regular cd and play them?
lucass May 20, 2003, 01:15 AM some can go straight onto a cd, others need to have things removed, downsampled or whatnot to fit onto a regular cd.
weldon May 20, 2003, 09:20 PM yep. if you havent tryed it, on www.xbox-scene.com , theres a xbox game filesize program. pretty nifty.
nimbles May 21, 2003, 05:24 AM Do you need to burn it any special way? i mean say for instance a friend of mine has unreal championship- and that may fit on a cd (its just over 700mb- 708) so can he put the actual game dvd in his dvd drive and a 80 min cdr in his cdrw- and copy from dvd to cd with nero?
Memphis May 21, 2003, 07:38 AM Unreal will need a slight overburn to fit onto an 80 minute disk. It's only a very small overburn and it works fine afterwards, done it myself. If you can't overburn, just downsample a single movie file and it will fit just fine.
And no he can't put it in his PC DVD drive and do a CD to CD copy, it is still an Xbox disk after all!
nimbles May 21, 2003, 08:48 AM Sorry to jump on your post weldon- but memphis how do you do it then- is it b y copying the disk onto the hd? if so how do you burn that folder/file as a data cd or something else?
then surely it isn't possible to copy any game to you pc first and then ftp back to the xbox- i only ask cos i asked a similar question and people said that they use both techniques- game-> pc-> xbox and game-> xbox-> pc
weldon May 21, 2003, 09:58 AM for unreal championship, you can delete update.xbe and dash****.exe in the same folder as the default.xbe, if you dont have xbl.
nimbles May 21, 2003, 10:44 AM surely if you need the modchip disabled to play live and therefore need the real game you can get rid these files anyway?
Memphis May 21, 2003, 11:16 AM Yeah forgot you could get rid of those files, so need to mess around with downsampling or overburning (However the overburn method will work if you don't wanna delete them for whatever reason).
Yeah to burn you need to either get the game on your Xbox's hard drive and FTP it over to you PC or just FTP it straight from the DVD drive. Once on your PC use whatever method you preffer to burn it to CD. I personally like using XISO and burning with Nero, but a UDF burn will do the trick as well.
nimbles May 21, 2003, 01:32 PM Ok i used that program and it says that basically marvel vs capcom(241) and capcom vs snk2(391) could fit on one cd- can i put two games on a cd?
Memphis May 21, 2003, 04:05 PM Yup, you just need the menu application to put on the CD with them. It's basically the same one that is used on the demo disks. Or if you just wanted them both on one CD, put them in seperate folders and just launch them from that location.
weldon May 21, 2003, 06:36 PM in fact, i made a menu x disk that has those 2 games. but one question, is there the default background that is in xbox as a menux background? i like the orginal.
