backup2k1 May 18, 2003, 04:24 PM hi guys ok i have had my xbox when it first came out
i have built a switch into the machine so i can turn the modchip off
well what i want to do now is im thinking of flashing the xbox
but keeping the modchip in still
i want to make backups of my games and
then fttp it from the xbox to the pc
and then burn the sucker onto dvd disk and use my backups
(does this need any patching at all when burning onto disk)
or does it make a 1 to 1 copy
what i like to know is the best bois to use and all so what are the cons
im going to be going onto xbox live and i know you got to have
the modchip off to play it
but can they still tell if the xbox has been flashed
i dont want to change the harddrive for a bigger one
ok the specs of my xbox is
Enigmah final version
built in on and off switch
and ready to flash
Memphis May 18, 2003, 05:29 PM Much better lol :p
Anyways, the BIOS I recommend is the Executor 4976.02 as it is fully featured and patches the latest Media flags on the fly. As for Live, your already covered. You need to make sure your original dash is called xboxdash.xbe and your EvoX dash is called evoxdash.xbe. The new BIOS will try to load the EvoX dash first, then the original so that you dont have to rename it. This will then allow you to turn the chip off using your switch and it will boot as if you never had a chip.
freakit May 18, 2003, 06:28 PM i don't think the enigmah final is flashable.
backup2k1 May 19, 2003, 12:31 AM hi ok what i need to know is how to go about doing this
the chip is flashable
but what i got to do is loaded the dvd or cdrw up first
then turn the modchip off
and then press the go button for it to flash the unit
im not really bothered about getting a bigger harddrive in at all
i just want to make backups for my own use rather then screw my real
xbox games up

freakit May 19, 2003, 08:05 PM maybe i am wrong, but i was told that the enigmah is not flashable and it doesn't support a larger HD. but you said you aren't replacing the HD so no big deal.
can someone confirm the flashing of the enigmah?
backup2k1 May 20, 2003, 01:32 AM hi ok what it is with the enigmah i boot up the new bios on a cdrw or dvd disk
when it loaded the disk up i then simply before pressing go to readover my bios
turn the modchip off and it should wipe over the xbox bios
but what im thinking of now guys
im going to be going onto xbox live if i do this screwed if im right :(
arthur_p_huxake May 20, 2003, 02:55 AM hi,
enigmah can not be flashed from evox/xbox...
you can boot from enigmah, then flash the xbox onboard bios. you need to solder 2 jumper points on the xbox mobo...check out xbox scene tutorials for more info, but you need to boot from original bios to use xbox live though, so look for tutorials for use of multiple bios images with the onboard bios chip so you can still use live..

arthur_p_huxake May 22, 2003, 12:43 AM heheh...yeah, not for the faint hearted is it?...having said that i've not tried it myself, still got my xtender chip tho, but running with a cheapmod so i'm kinda treating it as my last option if i ever need a 512/1024kb bios ;-)
