I am thinking of picking up an Xbox for a few great games (and XBConnect), but mainly an entertainment system and I already have a lot of DivX movies burnt on CDRs, knowing that the Xbox will not read CDR games, and I have heard of some people that the Xbox will play audio CDRs, since unlike games, do not have to go above the 1x reading speed, so how do DivX and XVid movies play on Xbox on CDRs. I plan on using XBMP more than likely.

If your xbox read anything on CDR, it will read divx movies also. Most xboxes dont. Few lucky ones who have boxes that come with samsung & even phillips drive might be able to read some brand.

Yeah, if you have the Samsung drive you are almost gauranteed to be able to read CD-R's, mine even reads cheapo non-branded ones!
Phillips you might be able to get it to read.
Thomson not a hope.
(Read speed has nothing to do with it.)
